Iran Plans Nuclear Plant

Iran intends a ritual to initiate a nuclear power plant and to be the first nation in the Middle East to establish a civilian nuclear power plant, according to Press Tv supported by government.

 

On third September, the Bushehr nuclear plant was linked to national energy grid, it was stated by the country’s Atomic Energy Organization.

 

Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, said the Iran was achieved to nuclear non-proliferation and international atomic energy standards. Russian Energy Minister Sergeri Shmatko ,whose country supported The Bushehr, also confirmed that the nuclear plant was built to international standards.

 

The United Nations nuclear manager said Iran challenges United Nations aims by building nuclear weapons. However, Iran declines that its aim is to build nuclear weapons. 

 

The plant has capacity to produce 1,000 megawatts of electricity, however it meets about 2,5% of Iran’s electricity consumption.
