The famine in Somalia continuous to spread into other areas. Today, Southern Somalia is the region where most people suffer from famine and drought. On Monday, United Nations stated that more regions in Somalia might have crisis in the future several months and the situation in Somalia is getting worse.
Now, 750.000 people are in danger to lose their lives in next months unless the supports from the other countries are increased immediately.
Because of scarcity, drought and war, people in Somalia live in bad conditions and these conditions also force people to emigrate. Approximately 150.000 refugess areasking for aid. 4 million people more than half of the population struggle for survival.
The agricultural productions insuffient to meet all the needs in the region. Lacking of food, health facilities have led to death of tens of thousands of people in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia-half of them were children-. Besides all these circumstances, the epidemic diseases and malnutrition are soaring day by day and the aid from all over the world is still inadequate.
Since 1991, Somalia has not had central government and Bay Region in Somalia is a kind of castle of Al Qaeda-linked rebel group Al-Shabab. It blocks the aid to areas under its control.
According to United Nations estimates, more than 12 million people across the Africa are trying to deal with the famine, drought and scarcity.
